French Rayon Covered Millinery Wire - 1.0mm

If you have ever got your hands on vintage millinery wire you will have adored it's strength and lustre - we are thrilled to say this modern stuff lives up to both! Made in France, this high quality millinery wire is made from strong hard steel and is meticulously wrapped with rayon thread which gives its glorious shine. 

Wire measures 1.0mm wide (approx. 30 gauge) and is ideal for creating hat bases, wiring flowers and making feather mounts.

Sold by the metre or full roll which measures 21m (22.9 yards). Multiple metres purchased will arrive as one continuous length.

The Petershams Guide to Millinery Wire:
1.2mm- An extra firm all around useful wire for creating stiff hat structures

1.0mm- A firm wire which is suitable for hat structure, flower stems and lighter weight brims

0.8mm - An excellent choice for making flowers and structuring lightweight millinery hat elements

0.4mm- Almost thread like, this thin wire is excellent for securing trims and creating veining in flowers
