PVA Adhesive / Stiffener for Millinery Straw - 115ml
PVA has quick become the replacement stiffener for the highly solvent chemical stiffeners from the days of old. Far less smelly and kinder to the earth, PVA is a water based adhesive when diluted down with water makes an excellent choice for stiffening sinamay and the vast majority of millinery straws including sisals, raffia and more.
We prefer a 1 part PVA to 2 parts water ratio which works well for most straws. You may wish to experiment with a weaker or stronger mix depending on your material and desired stiffness.
Top tip!: Stiffening your straw with several very fine layers of PVA solution is far better than globbing on thick coats which can result in window-paning your straw.
